Tomotherapy
Tomotherapy is a dedicated
IMRT (intensity modulated
radiation therapy) machine
that combines the precision
of daily CT based imaging
of the target with a sophisticated
planning and treatment delivery
system.
More simply put, the tomotherapy
machine allows your physicians
and radiation therapists to
precisely target the tumor
and relatively spare adjacent
normal tissue. This is a fantastic
new tool in the treatment
of cancer helping destroy
the cancer and decreasing
side effects.
