Dr. Kesslering is the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology and primarily practices at Central DuPage Hospital. She is board-certified in Radiation Oncology. After completing medical school at Loyola University and residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, she joined Radiation Oncology Consultants, where she has been in private practice since 2000.
Dr. Kesslering has extensive expertise in treating breast cancer, especially with the use of High-Dose Rate brachytherapy treatment, including SAVI, Contura and Mammosite catheters. She also has expertise in stereotactic body radiotherapy in the treatment of lung cancer and metastatic disease and in stereotactic intracranial radiosurgery including specialized training in the use of the GammaKnife for the treatment of benign and malignant brain tumors. She is experienced in the use of 3-D conformal radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and has specialized training in the use of Proton Therapy. Dr. Kesslering is active in numerous professional organizations, as well as the Cancer Committee at Central DuPage Hospital where she acts as a Vice-Chairperson and as the Cancer Liaison Physician.
Dr. Kesslering spends her leisure time with her husband and 4 children. She loves staying active by playing tennis, golf, volleyball and skiing and enjoys triathlons.
When asked why she chose Radiation Oncology, she states, "I love being able to teach my patients about their disease and to help alleviate their symptoms. I also enjoy the constantly changing technical side of radiation oncology and being able to perform specialized procedures."
