Dr. Mohammed will be joining ROCL in August of 2011. He is a native of Chicago and is eager to provide compassionate cutting edge cancer care to the Chicagoland community.
Dr. Mohammed completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois where he graduated with University Honors. He earned an M.B.A. prior to starting medical school at the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. There, he graduated with Magna Cum Laude distinction and was awarded membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He was recruited to William Beaumont Hospital for his internship and residency in radiation oncology. There, Dr. Mohammed became experienced in brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and image-guided radiotherapy. He has conducted research, made national and international scientific presentations, and published scholarly articles pertaining to the treatment techniques and outcomes for lung, head and neck, prostate, and central nervous system tumors.
In his free time, Dr. Mohammed enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a sports enthusiast and enjoys time outdoors.
When asked why he chose radiation oncology, he states, "As a radiation oncologist, I have the opportunity to use cutting edge technology and science blended with compassionate patient care to improve both the clinical and social outcomes for patients. For me, this is a deeply humbling and intensely fulfilling experience."
